Here is a little bit of information about Coach Smith:
An assistant coach for 2013 LIU Post Athletic Hall of Fame inductee Tom Galeazzi from 2002-06, Devine Smith just completed his sixth season with the Pioneers in 2015-16.
Smith’s most recent coaching stint was at East Coast Conference rival Dowling College, where he served as an assistant for six seasons (2007-13). In that capacity, he was responsible for marketing, scheduling, scouting, recruiting, and proposing travel expense budgets.
Lastly, from 1999-2002, Smith worked as an assistant coach at Copiague High School. While there, he tutored the post players on offensive play, and defensive containment.
There will be no charge for the tryout.

At 3pm, starting with #longislandsteam the NBA G League’s Brooklyn Nets affiliate team the Long Island Nets face the Minnesota Timberwolves NBA Affiliate team the Iowa Wolves. This game is also the Long Island Nets’ Cancer Awareness game.

In our mission to provide a platform to assist student-athletes the opportunity to go to college using basketball it’s a no brainer that we partnered in promoting this event with Hoop Group to assist our players in being recognized by college basketball programs as well as media and scouting services.
Starting March 2, 2019, the cost is $120/participantEarly Bird Special using registration code iluvbball19
The first is an All-Academic team which will consist of players who have certain GPA (3.5 or 90 and above) The team would play in a series of events held during the month of May. All games will be videotaped and seen by college coaches who interest in a high-level student athlete. The tryouts for this team will be held March 22 at 7:00 pm at JMF Sports Center located at 575 Merrick Avenue in Westbury. A committee selected by the Lightning Executive Director will decide upon who will make up this team. The team will be coached by Eric Haber. Anyone interested in trying out must bring an unofficial transcript the tryout.
This All Academic team will participate in the following tournaments during the month of May:
Saturday May 11, 2019: 2 games site TBD in Westchester County Saturday May 18, 2019: 3 games site TBD in Westchester County Saturday May 25, 2019: 2 games @ NERR Super 16 event
Sunday May 26, 2019: Championship Bracket at NERR Super 16 in Connecticut.
Those interested in participating must commit to attending all events.
The cost will be approximately $325.00 per player which must be paid in full upon notification of selection to team.

Nine years ago Coach Andre Edwards started a movement to provide a platform for the Unsigned Senior Student-Athletes to get the exposure needed to continue their basketball careers at the Colligate level. After becoming a coach at the Colligate level he passed the baton to his associates at Team Underrated and they continued his dream in helping our Student-Athletes achieve their dreams to play at the next level.
Every year this event is getting bigger and bigger and more and more players are getting recruited and more coaches are checking their calendars for the date of the next Team underrated Showcase Event. We at iLuvBBall has partnered with him since the 4th year and are proud to announce that we’re back for the 9th Annual event scheduled for Saturday March 23rd, 2019!
