The first is an All-Academic team which will consist of players who have certain GPA (3.5 or 90 and above) The team would play in a series of events held during the month of May. All games will be videotaped and seen by college coaches who interest in a high-level student athlete. The tryouts for this team will be held March 22 at 7:00 pm at JMF Sports Center located at 575 Merrick Avenue in Westbury. A committee selected by the Lightning Executive Director will decide upon who will make up this team. The team will be coached by Eric Haber. Anyone interested in trying out must bring an unofficial transcript the tryout.
This All Academic team will participate in the following tournaments during the month of May:
Saturday May 11, 2019: 2 games site TBD in Westchester County
Saturday May 18, 2019: 3 games site TBD in Westchester County
Saturday May 25, 2019: 2 games @ NERR Super 16 event
Saturday May 18, 2019: 3 games site TBD in Westchester County
Saturday May 25, 2019: 2 games @ NERR Super 16 event
Sunday May 26, 2019: Championship Bracket at NERR Super 16 in Connecticut.
Those interested in participating must commit to attending all events.
The cost will be approximately $325.00 per player which must be paid in full upon notification of selection to team.
