ALL ACADEMIC TEAM TRYOUTS THIS FRIDAY!!

The first is an All-Academic team which will consist of players who have certain GPA (3.5 or 90 and above) The team would play in a series of events held during the month of May. All games will be videotaped and seen by college coaches who interest in a high-level student athlete.  The tryouts for this team will be held March 22 at 7:00 pm at JMF Sports Center located at 575 Merrick Avenue in Westbury. A committee selected by the Lightning Executive Director will decide upon who will make up this team. The team will be coached by Eric Haber. Anyone interested in trying out must bring an unofficial transcript the tryout.

This All Academic team will participate in the following tournaments during the month of May:

Saturday May 11, 2019: 2 games site TBD in Westchester County
Saturday May 18, 2019: 3 games site TBD in Westchester County
Saturday May 25, 2019: 2 games @ NERR Super 16 event
Sunday May 26, 2019: Championship Bracket at NERR Super 16 in Connecticut.
Those interested in participating must commit to attending all events.
The cost will be approximately $325.00 per player which must be paid in full upon notification of selection to team.

Lightning Elite D1 & D2 Tryouts Also This Friday!

Lightning Basketball and NY Metropolitan AAU are committed to assisting all athletes in pursuing their dream of playing college basketball.
Lighting Basketball will be hosting tryouts for our Elite Division l or ll squad.
This will consist of players who are projected to be able to play at either Division l or ll in college.
This team will play during the D1 and D2 live periods.
It will be open to High School Juniors and Sophomores.  This team will be coached by Warren Wagner. 
The team will play in Mass. during April, Albany on Memorial Day weekend and probably in Pennsylvania during July.
The approximate cost is $425.00. 
The tryouts for this team will be held also on Friday, March 22 at 7:00 pm but at the Island Garden.
No transcript is needed for this tryout.

Registration Fee is $25.
BOYS – Age group is determined for boys’ teams by how old the child is on August 31, 2020. For example, a child who was born on June 25, 2007, will be 13 on August 31, 2020, and he must play in the 13U age group. For boys in elementary and middle school, the grade does not come into consideration as it is based solely on age.
GIRLS: Eligibility is determined by grade for all girls’ teams.
