Despite Long Island’s hot shooting, Memphis refused to go away. The Hustle outscored the Nets 33-31 in the third quarter, trailing by 13 heading into the final period of play. Memphis made it a game in the fourth, cutting the lead down to as few as four points with 7.7 seconds left, but some clutch free throws down the stretch for the Nets put the game away. Long Island would end up winning this one by a score of 137-132.

Memphis guard Tarik Phillip scored a game-high 48 points to go along with six rebounds, four assists, two steals and four blocks. The 48 points are the most by a Long Island opponent this season. Mr Double-Double of Section XI is in the Record books again!

Congratulations to Bellport’s Jarell White on reaching 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds! The senior has done it again! Not only has he scored another career 1,000 high school points, but he’s also reached the 1,000 rebound club

Jarell is a great kid and hard worker! He takes pride in rebounding and it shows. Last season the Clippers made it to the Class AA semifinals
